WIC Approved Food List changes start October 1, 2025. These changes are being made to allow all eligible individuals to continue to participate in the WIC program.

All participants will receive the same amount of food with the same nutritional value each month! Participants will continue to receive the higher dollar amount for fruit and vegetable purchases each month!

Check each category below to see all the brands, sizes and types of WIC-approved food starting October 1 to understand the changes before shopping. The highlights of the changes include:

  • Moving to store brands of cold and hot cereal.
  • Moving to 64 oz store brands of apple, orange or grape flavors of juice for children.
  • Moving to store brand peanut butter.
  • Moving to shredded cheese.
  • Moving to white eggs.
  • Moving to non-organic infant cereal, meats and fruits and vegetables.
  • Moving to tuna and sardines.
  • Removing yogurt, goat milk and evaporated milk.
    • Participants who were issued these items in their benefits for October through December may continue to purchase these items until December 31. These items may not be purchased with WIC benefits beginning January 1.
      • Participants issued yogurt as a WIC benefit may purchase 32 oz containers of the following brands: Belfonte, Best Choice, Coburn Farms, Dannon, Dannon Activia, Dannon Light + Fit, Essential Everyday, Food Club, Great Value, HyVee, Kroger, Lala, Mountain High, Schnucks and Yoplait.
        • Buy only the fat type specified on your benefit.
        • Approved flavors only.
        • No Greek-style.
      • Participants issued goat milk as a WIC benefit may purchase the Meyenberg brand.
        • Whole evaporated (12 oz can).
        • Nonfat powder (12 oz pouch).
      • Participants issued evaporated milk as a WIC benefit may purchase a store brand of nonfat (skim) or whole in a 12 oz can.
