eLearning Training
Online WIC Retailer Training for Missouri
Online training will be required for all new retailers and may be required for existing retailers due to violations or complaints. The online training includes three eLearning training modules. The links and topics for each module are listed below.
Module 1 (30 minutes)
Topics include:
- What is WIC?
- WIC website-retailer information.
- Who is a WIC retailer?
- eWIC capability.
- Retailer authorization process.
- WIC retailer agreement.
- Full service grocery store requirements.
- Selection criteria.
- Pricing peer groups.
- Retailer responsibilities.
- Retailer compliance and violations.
Module 2 (29 minutes)
Topics include:
- Approved Product List (APL).
- WICShopper App.
- Criteria for approved WIC foods.
- Stocking requirements.
- Mapping fresh produce.
Module 3 (38 minutes)
Topics include:
- Retailer and cashier training.
- Level III certifications.
- WIC requirements and regulations.
- Stand beside and integrated systems.
- WIC transactions.
- Troubleshooting tips.
- WIC claim files and appeals.
Technical Assistance Training
The Missouri WIC retailer team is offering you and your employees a hands-on WIC Technical Assistance (TA) training! Training will be held regionally or at your store, depending on the interest in your area. The goal is to equip your cashiers, managers, price coordinators and scanning coordinators with the skills to successfully complete WIC transactions and other WIC-related items. These skills will ensure that WIC shoppers have a great shopping experience!
TA training covers several topics, such as:
- How to conduct a WIC transaction.
- eWIC card procedures.
- Troubleshooting tips.
- What to do with receipts.
- How to review receipts.
- Minimum varieties and quantities of WIC-approved foods.
- Compliance with the WIC program.
- Mapping fresh produce.
