Outpatient Physical Therapy
Rehabilitative services are offered by Medicare certified providers. It is an integrated program designed to upgrade the physical functions of persons by bringing together specialized rehabilitation personnel. These services may include:
- Physical therapy, speech language pathology, occupational therapy, social or vocational services, psychological and physician services;
- Evaluation of the home environment in relation to treatment plan;
- Individualized patient care plans.
Comprehensive Outpatient Rehabilitation Facility
A comprehensive outpatient rehabilitation facility (CORF) is a facility that provides a variety of services. Patients must be under a physician's care and go to the facility for services ordered by a physician. The CORF must provide a coordinated rehabilitation program that includes, at a minimum, physician services, physical therapy services and social or psychological services. It could also include nursing services, occupational therapy, orthotics, prosthetics, respiratory therapy and speech therapy. The staff must be licensed, certified or registered as required by state law. A physician must establish a plan of treatment for the patient.
