The Environmental Public Health Tracking (EPHT) Program collects, analyzes, and shares data and information on health conditions that may be related to environmental exposures. The data and information can help to understand how health and the environment are connected, improve and protect health, and create safe, healthy communities.
Some health problems, like carbon monoxide poisoning, are quick, harmful effects with a clear cause. Other health problems, like some cancers, may take years to develop or may have many causes. There is still a lot we don’t know, like possible links between some cancers and contact with harmful substances in our environment.

Missouri Environmental Public Health Tracking (EPHT) is a program within the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. EPHT is part of a network of people and information systems which delivers a core set of health, exposure, and hazards data, information summaries and tools to enable analysis, visualization and reporting of insights drawn from data. Those insights are intended to help data drive actions and improve community health.
