Chuck Polleschultz has been a volunteer with VOYCE for five years. Before becoming an ombudsman, he had been unofficially dedicating his time to residents in long-term care, visiting them and providing companionship. The administrator of the home he was visiting recognized Chuck’s passion and suggested that he look into becoming an ombudsman. He has since served as an advocate for residents in long-term care. When he was unable to visit due to Covid-19, he made care packages and did window visits in order to maintain a connection with residents. Now that ombudsmen are back in homes and we have started training new ombudsmen, Chuck has been willing to let new volunteers shadow him and show them the ropes. He has been an asset to VOYCE and a dedicated advocate for residents.
