Linda Sommers has been with the Ombudsman Program for three years this October and is an advocate for residents at Jefferson City Manor. Linda’s volunteer experience goes back to 1998 working with Teens Encounter Christ and as a GED teacher for Department of Corrections. Linda has a great rapport with the residents she advocates for and feels it’s important to visit the facility at different times to ensure she can see everyone.  Linda also strives to have clear communication with the facility staff as it enables her to better assist the residents with any concerns or complaints they may have.

During the pandemic, Linda continued her advocacy by sending cards, calling, and doing outside visits with residents when she could. She is the epitome of perseverance and kindness.   Linda feels it’s important to attend webinars and zoom meetings to ensure continuance of her education in the Program. Aging Best is so grateful to have Linda as a volunteer and appreciates all she does for the residents she serves.
