Outbreak Assistance

The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and the State Public Health Laboratory are available to assist in outbreak situations or in cases when unusual viral pathogens are suspected. Additional testing and assistance may be made available through our partnership with CDC, as a member of the Laboratory Response Network. Contact the State Public Health Laboratory Virology laboratory in advance of specimen collection in cases such as human rabies, pediatric flu deaths, unusual respiratory disease where SARS or avian flu is suspect, or for cases of unusual rash illness.
