Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) IgM, Western Equine Encephalitis (WEE) IgM, California Encephalitis (CE) Group IgM, and St. Louis Encephalitis IgM Testing
The Missouri State Public Health Laboratory conducts IgM antibody testing for various arboviruses including Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE), Western Equine Encephalitis (WEE), California Encephalitis (CE) Group, and St. Louis encephalitis (SLE).
EEE IgM, WEE IgM, SLE IgM, and CE antibody detection on single acute or convalescent serum using Indirect Immunofluorescence (IFA).
Testing is available only after consultation with the Arbovirus Program (573-751-6113 or (toll-free) 1-866-628-9891).
Collection kit contains one red-top blood collection tube, and freeze pillows.
At least 1 ml of serum
The ideal timing to collect acute serum is 3 to 10 days after onset of symptoms.
Store refrigerated until transport, pack specimen kit with frozen cold pack for transport.
