Wisconsin Firm Recalls Liver Paté Due to Misbranding and An Undeclared Allergen

The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services received information regarding the recall of 10-oz. vacuum packed packages of "Nueske's Applewood Smoked Liver Paté. The product is being recalled because it contains milk protein sodium caseinate, a known allergen, which is not declared on the product label.

Each package bears the establishment number "Est. 8926" inside the USDA mark of inspection. The packages can be further identified by the use by dates "2/13/13C," "2/19/13C," "2/20/13C," or "3/16/13C," or the Julian code dates "200350C," "200357C," "300015C," or "300022C." The products were produced on various dates between Dec. 15, 2012 and Jan. 22, 2013 and were distributed for retail sale nationwide.
