Updated: Nationwide Recall of Tattoo Ink, Tattoo Needles, Tattoo Kits Due to Microbial Contamination

The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services received information regarding a recall of all tattoo inks, tattoo needles, and tattoo kits distributed by White & Blue Lion due to pathogenic bacterial contamination. As of an extra precaution, the company is also recalling all tubes and ink cups.

Use of these products may cause bacterial infection and can lead to sepsis, a potentially life-threatening complication of an infection.

FDA Laboratory testing has found microbial bacterial contamination in both the inks and needles.
