Department of Health and Senior Services Programs

The Missouri Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) works to improve the health of participants by supplementing their diets with nutritious U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) commodity foods. The program is administered by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (MDHSS) and funded by the USDA.

The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) helps assure that eligible populations have access to nutritious meals during the summer months. When school is not in session, SFSP provides reimbursement to community agencies offering the required continuum of meals.

Department of Social Services Food Distribution Program:
The FSD Food Distribution Unit, through the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food Distribution Programs, provides food to help improve the nutritional status of children and needy adults. These programs provide for distribution of USDA-donated foods to all "non-school" recipient agencies.

Second Harvest:
Our mission is to create a hunger-free America. We distribute food and grocery products through a Nationwide Network of certified Members, increase public awareness of domestic hunger and advocate for policies that benefit America's hungry.

Society of St. Andrew:
We feed the hungry all year long by saving fresh produce that would otherwise go to waste and giving it to the needy.

United Way:
The Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program was created in 1983 to supplement the work of local social service organizations within the United States to help people in need of emergency assistance.

The Chef and the Child Foundation:
Our mission is to educate and assist the family in understanding proper nutrition and to be the voice of the American Culinary Federation in its fight against childhood hunger.

The Congressional Hunger Center is a nonprofit anti-hunger training organization founded by former Rep. Tony Hall and located in Washington, D.C.

The Economic Research Service is a primary source of economic information and research in the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
