Training for Leaders
Several programs benefit individuals with arthritis that need leaders. These include:
Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program
Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program covers a wide variety of range-of-motion and endurance-building activities, relaxation techniques, and health education topics. Classes typically meet for 45 minutes two - three times per week.
EnhanceFitness
EnhanceFitness focuses on stretching, flexibility, balance, low-impact aerobics, and strength training exercises. Classes meet for 1 hour 3 times per week (limited offerings).
Arthritis Foundation Self Help Program
Arthritis Foundation Self Help Program is a 6-week course that consists of weekly 2-hour sessions. People with arthritis learn necessary skills needed to build a personalized self-management program and gain the confidence to carry it out.
Chronic Disease Self Management Program
Chronic Disease Self Management Program is a program that specifically addresses common chronic condition issues including those related to arthritis, diabetes, and lung and heart disease (and more), while teaching useful skills for self-managing those issues. Workshops meet 2.5 hours per week for six weeks.

Volunteer
Get Involved! It's fun, makes you feel good, and you can help individuals in your community. Each year we rely on people just like you to help improve the quality of life and reduce disability for individuals with arthritis and osteoporosis.
There are many ways you can volunteer and help others - teaching classes, leading support groups, participating on committees/boards, working in the office, starting a walking club, participating in state and national events, etc. Contact your nearest Regional Arthritis Center or local chapter of the Arthritis Foundation to volunteer today.
