MSPHL Training

The Compliance Unit at the Missouri State Public Health Laboratory (MSPHL) provides a variety of training activities for both our staff and external partners throughout the state. We offer training and technical assistance and consultation to both Sentinel and Member Laboratories in Missouri with regards to our laboratory services as well as provides scientific expertise and guidance for the rule out/referral process for potential agents of bioterrorism through the Missouri Laboratory Response Network (MOLRN). 

In addition, the Compliance unit provides Packaging and Shipping training to our external partners to assist them in meeting regulatory and recertification requirements for the shipment of hazardous and infectious materials. This training is a full day seminar that covers the regulations for Category A and Category B infectious substances and dry ice in accordance with the Department of Transportation (DOT), the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the United States Postal Service (USPS). This workshop will engage participants through lecture, hands-on demonstrations, and breakout discussions throughout. The Compliance Unit also offers additional support and trainings as requested by laboratories participating in the MOLRN.
