Dear Recipient,

The Missouri State Public Health Laboratory has made small updates to the HIV and syphilis testing kits. A list along with pictures can be found below. Effective Thursday, October 10th, specimens received outside of acceptable temperature conditions will be classified as unsatisfactory.

If you have any questions regarding the kits and proper transportation, please call Dana Strope or our Central Services Unit at 573-751-3334.

1-4 specimen mailers are now shipped in biohazard bags instead of the cannisters.

Please use the freezer pillows shown below when transporting 1-4 specimens. This freezer pillow must be placed in the freezer for a minimum of 24 hours prior to shipping with the specimens.

5-10 specimen mailers and 48 specimen mailers are now available. Please note they will require more and/or larger freezer pillows to ensure transportation conditions are met. See pictures below for representation.
