HVAC Improvements
Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (MO DHSS) is partnering with PurAir and Grainger Inc. to offer the following services at no cost to the district:
- Environmental steam cleaning of HVAC air handling equipment
- Assessment of HVAC air handling equipment
- Environmental cleaning of HVAC ductwork
This program will run through July 31, 2023. PurAir is a top-rated HVAC company. Grainger is a government contractor with an established contract with MO DHSS to offer these services. MO DHSS is making this opportunity available to Missouri schools through ELC Reopening Schools federal funds.
How it Works
To place an order, a school must complete an order form and submit to the address at the top of the form.
Schools do not need to have a contract with DHSS nor apply for funding to obtain the services listed.
There are no reporting requirements attached to this opportunity.

Ordering Process
- The school determines the total square footage of the school building, the number of roof top units, the number of mechanical room units, the number of unit ventilator and the number of fan coil/reheat coil/VAV.
- The school will check if they are a school that participates in School Lunch Eligibility Program (CEP) and check what percentage of students qualify for free or reduced lunch.
- The school emails the completed order form directly to the address located at the top of the form.
- Grainger/PruAir will send a confirmation email that the order was received and contact the school for within three business days of order of receipt to schedule work.
- Grainger/PurAir will send out a final report with before and after photos. You will also receive recommendations for other repairs or maintenance observed.
- Grainger/PruAir will invoice DHSS directly. There is no cost to the school.
HEPA Air Filtration Units
Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (MO DHSS) is partnering with Medify Air and Grainger Inc. to offer free HEPA air purifiers to Missouri K-12 schools through July 31, 2023. Medify Air is a top-rated air purifier manufacturer that provides high quality HEPA air purifier systems and replacement filters. Grainger is a government contractor with an established contact with MO DHSS to offer a variety of materials and services. MO DHSS is making this opportunity available to Missouri schools through ELC Reopening Schools federal funds.
How it Works
To place an order, a school must complete an order form and submit it to Grainger Inc. via the email address provided on the order form.
Schools do not need to apply for any funding to obtain the HEPA air purifier units.
There are no reporting requirements attached to this opportunity.

Ordering Process
- The school determines the number of air purifiers needed and completes the order form.
- Please see room measurement information for determining room size and appropriate air purifier.
- The Grainger representative will help schools determine the number and size of air purifiers needed in each school, if desired. There are three units available, depending on the size of the room.
- Schools may order one purifier per room for any classroom or common area on the school campus students or staff routinely occupy.
- The school emails the completed order form directly to Grainger. Please use the email address listed on the order form.
- The order will come with the HEPA filtration unit, the filter, and two replacement filters for each unit.
- Grainger will send an email informing the school representative that their order was received. Grainger will reach out to the school representative if there are questions about the order.
- Medify Air will ship the HEPA air purifier units to the school address provided on the order form.
- Prior to shipment, MO DHSS will work with Grainger and Medify to review and approve orders. If MO DHSS has any questions or concerns regarding order details, MO DHSS may also contact the school directly. This process may take up to 10 business days.
- Educational materials and set-up services will be provided by Medify and/or Grainger upon request. For this additional support the district will need to contact the Grainger representative who processed their order.
