CEU Tracking Information
NOTICE: The Onsite Wastewater Program is no longer tracking CEUs for professionals and therefore no longer able to accept phone/email inquiries regarding current CEU balances effective July 5th. The program will be sending out a final notice to all professionals no later than September 31, 2022. The letter will provide you with your CEU requirement and your balance as of the date noted. This information will be used to setup the CEU Tracking Tool. Thank you for your continued support and patience with the Program as we make these improvements.
Continuing education is one way for onsite professionals to maintain the skills and knowledge necessary to achieve high standards in the onsite wastewater treatment system (OWTS) industry. Continuing education units (CEUs) provide individuals with recognition for their efforts to update and broaden their knowledge or skills through participation in continuing education activities. By saving CEU certificates and/or stamped agendas, onsite professionals can keep a record of their training. The primary purpose of tracking CEUs is as a training confirmation for those who seek to renew their OWTS professional registration or license, or to maintain other credentials. CEU records are frequently used by individuals to give an employer, prospective employer or client information about continuing education and training pertinent to their occupation. CEU requirements are found in regulations 19 CSR 20-3.070 for licensed inspectors and 19 CSR 20-3.080 for all other registered professionals.
- CEU Course Report: This report lists in person (and some virtual) classes that have been pre-approved for CEUs. The report is updated as we are notified of classes.
- Online CEU Courses: Online courses available for CEU credit.
- CEU Tracking Tool: This tool will assist you with tracking of your CEUs and determining your balance after inputting your registration/licensure information. Use of this tool is not required. Stay tuned for more instructions and training on using the CEU tracking tool.
- Non Pre-approved CEUs: This form is to be used request credit for a class that was not pre-approved for credit. All course information must be sent to the program with the request for verification.
Obtaining CEUs does not result in automatic renewal of your license/registration. Renewal packets are mailed approximately 45 days prior to expiration. You must complete all steps of the renewal process in order to be issued a new ID. Renewals received more than 45 days after the expiration date are REQUIRED to complete the initial licensure/registration process including training and fees as required by regulations.
