Missouri’s statistics on lead levels

Parents

Missouri's lead levels are incredibly high because of historic mining. It has left Missouri children at risk for lead poisoning, which is harmful to every part of the body.

Children 3 and under should be tested yearly for this very reason.

Lead prevention with proper nutrition

Did you know you can prevent lead absorption with nutrition? Vitamin C, iron and calcium all contribute to a balanced diet as well as combatting lead poisoning. Empty stomachs absorb more lead than full stomachs, so keep healthy snacks on hand!
