The Friday Facts targets local public health agencies (LPHA), their governing bodies, and other entities directly involved in the public health system. It is designed to alert readers of issues impacting the local public health system and provide information of interest. Items relating only to Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) employees or DHSS employee issues will not be included.
Items must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday to be published that Friday. Any item received after Wednesday will be considered for the next Friday’s publication. Due to the size and time involved in the Friday Facts, late items will not be published until the next week. Exceptions will be made only in the event of true emergencies. Send items to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Only seminars, workshops, in-services, etc. sponsored by DHSS, LPHAs, or non-profit organizations that are of interest to LPHA staff will be published in the Friday Facts. A registration form will be accepted as an attachment. (Attachments containing pictures/graphics should be submitted in pdf format.)
The font used for the Friday Facts is Verdana - 10. Please submit your blurb in Verdana - 10. (Attachments should be limited and those with pictures/graphics should be submitted in pdf format.)
Job OpportunitiesJob Opportunities for DHSS, LPHAs, educational institutions, and governmental agencies that DHSS partners with may be publicized in the Friday Facts. Note: Only DHSS central office job openings that have been approved by the Office of Personnel can be published. Approval is based on the need for statewide recruitment or when finding qualified candidates for positions is difficult.
Only meetings sponsored by the DHSS, LPHAs, or non-profit organizations that are of interest to lpha staff may be published in the Friday Facts. A registration form will be accepted as an attachment. (Attachments containing pictures/graphics should be submitted in pdf format).
An item will only be published once unless specifically requested. There is a limit of three weeks.
Items submitted for inclusion in the Friday Facts should be 150 words or less. Items should be a short paragraph containing a brief summary of information including contact information. To assist with keeping size limit, you may use attachments or link to a website.
Items submitted for publication in the Friday Facts are subject to editing by the Center for Local Public Health Services.
