Home Modifications
Information
Home Modifications can help older adults stay safe, healthy, and independent in their environment of choice. Home modifications can range from adding shower seats or grab bars, to adding lighting, adding a ramp to help access the home, adding stair lifts, or even some remodeling like widening doorways for wheelchair access into the main floor bathroom. The area agencies on aging (AAAs) have limited funding available to help with the costs of minor home modifications and may be able to connect you with additional community resources.
Contact
Find your local AAA here to learn what home modification assistance is available in your area. You can also call the Missouri Senior Resource Helpline toll-free at 1-800-235-5503 to be connected with local assistance.
