Selection Process


The selection committee consists of RDs employed in foodservice management, clinical practice, a local health department, state WIC office, another DHSS program, the Dietetic Internship Director, and the Student Dietetic Education Coordinator.

Each application is reviewed by each committee member and rated based on the scoring guidelines. Any incomplete applications will not be considered for the program. The selection committee meets to conduct phone interviews of top ranking candidates and make a final decision on the applicants. Pre-Select interns are notified by phone and letter regarding their acceptance into PDI by the fourth Friday in January. Computer match interns, if slots are available, are notified by D&D Digital Systems procedures.
