RSMo 160-975 requires all Missouri public and charter schools to post in a public area readily accessible to students a sign in English and Spanish that contains the toll-free child abuse and neglect hotline number. The signage is required to be at least 11 inches by 17 inches in size, contain large print, and be placed at eye level to the students for easy viewing.
Where to find signage that meets the requirements:
Posters that meet the required standards for elementary and secondary schools can be downloaded from the School Resources Section of the Children’s Division Child Abuse & Neglect Hotline web page. Posters are available in both English and Spanish.
Printed copies of the posters can be obtained by contacting your local/county Children’s Division Office. To find contact information for your local/county Children’s Division office, go to https://dss.mo.gov/cd/office/ and select your county from the dropdown list.
Note: Smaller county offices may refer schools to a neighboring county to get posters.
