JOB OPPORTUNITY: Peer Counselor-Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center

  1. Breast Pump Order: Medela will begin shipping breast pumps the week of April 9, 2012.  Please remember that the following procedure must be followed in order to verify receipt of shipment for payment and to send the required WIC tags.

      • Immediately upon receipt of shipment, please locate the packing slip and verify that your agency received the products and quantities stated.
      • Sign the packing slip to verify the order is correct.
      • Fax the signed packing slip to Laura Weiler at the state WIC office at 573-526-1470. WIC tags will be mailed upon receipt of your packing slip.
      • If your agency did not receive what was stated on the packing slip, please contact the state WIC office immediately.

  2. Breastfeeding Seminar: Dr. Marianne Neifert and Dr. Thomas Hale are presenting a session in Columbia titled, “Improving Health Care Practices that Support the Breastfeeding Dyad” on Friday, May 18, 2012 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Registration is free, but seating is limited. Attached is the registration form with contact information for questions. (ONE ATTACHMENT)

  3. WIC Positions

    JOB OPPORTUNITY-Peer Counselor-Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center-8 hours per week; flexible days/times
    The Peer Counselor will work with WIC team members to encourage and support breastfeeding among WIC participants. This position will counsel pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers by telephone and in the WIC office at scheduled intervals; teach prenatal and breastfeeding classes with approved lesson plan provided by the health center.
