SUBJECT 1: Direct Ship and Formula Approval. As we work to navigate the challenges that have risen with the spread of COVID-19, the State Agency (SA) has determined that the direct shipment and formula approval process will remain the same as outlined on page 4 of the Food and Formula Reference Guidelines- September 1, 2019. We will work with each local agency as necessary if changes in their clinic will affect the delivery of the formula. Please contact Jill Crossland at jill.crossland@health.mo.gov with questions.

SUBJECT 2: Extra Formula.  Please contact the SA if your clinic has extra formula not being used. Instructions are on page 5 of the Food and Formula Reference Guidelines- September 1, 2019.

SUBJECT 3: Homemade Baby Formula. With many retailers experiencing challenges with keeping formula stocked, parents will be looking for alternatives to feed their infants. Please educate parents on the dangers of using homemade baby formula. The following link has recommendations for parents from the American Academy of Pediatrics at healthychildren.org

SUBJECT 4: wichealth.org for Participant Education. As we are trying to increase social distancing, please help your participants get one of their education contacts by using wichealth.org

Use the following steps to get your participants signed-up:
