SUBJECT 1: Updated Technical Assistance Staff Assignments. Attached is an updated technical assistance (TA) map for FFY 2020 that reflects new state technical assistance staff assignments. Changes due to eWIC, requiring additional ongoing retailer support resulted in some administrative staff being reassigned to provide technical assistance and monitoring to retailers only. When new technical assistance assignments were determined, consideration was given to assigning a similar number of local agencies to all technical assistance staff. Roadways and natural barriers were also considered, as were agencies that should logically be kept together (e.g., Phelps/Maries and Region G).
Local Agency Plans (LAPs) will be reviewed and approved by state agency staff according to the new technical assistance assignment map. Local agency staff may decide what format, location, and schedule to use for district meetings, as is currently the practice. State agency staff will continue to be available to assist with the district meetings.
Current technical assistance staff will continue to work with the same agencies until approximately August 1, 2019, to complete the FFY 2019 monitoring schedule. Nutrition and Administrative technical assistance staff is looking forward to meeting local agency staff. Please do not hesitate to contact your TA staff with any questions you may have.
