JOB POSTING: Nutritionist - McDonald County Health Department
SUBEJCT 1: WIC Invoices. WIC invoices for May 2018 (submitted for payment in the month of June), along with prior months, must be submitted through the Online WIC Invoicing System by close of business Thursday, June 7, 2018. Invoices submitted after that date will be held and paid in July 2018. This change in schedule complies with the close of the State Fiscal Year 2018 payment processing deadlines. SUBJECT 2: Save the Date - Nutrition Assessment and Goal Setting Webinars. The Altarum Institute is providing two one-hour live webinars to support local agency staff in their mission to provide WIC families with participant-centered nutrition education and counseling. The webinars are required for all CPAs, dietitians, and nutritionists. Other staff are welcome to view the webinar. Two different webinars will be provided, with each webinar offered on two separate dates to provide a morning and afternoon session.
- Participant-Centered Nutrition Assessment: August 14 at 9:00 a.m. or August 16 at 3:00 p.m.
- Effective Goal Setting and Information Sharing in WIC: September 12 at 9:00 a.m. or September 18 at 3:00 p.m.

SUBEJCT 3: MOWINS Help Desk Closures. The MOWINS Help Desk will be closed on the following dates and times:
- Thursday, June 14 all day
- Thursday, June 21 from 8:30-10:30 a.m.
The MOWINS Help Desk will check email and voicemail frequently during the closure times and will respond as soon as possible.
SUBJECT 4: 2018 Annual WIC Retailer Training. In July and August 2018, there will be annual training sessions held statewide for authorized WIC retailers. If your agency would like to send a representative to attend a training session in your area, please submit a training registration form by 5:00 p.m. on June 30, 2018. The registration form can be submitted by email to Dona Smith at firstname.lastname@example.org or by fax to 573-526-1470. The registration form and training schedule are attached.
The training sessions will last approximately 90 minutes. Please be aware that WIC retail stores will be given first priority for training sessions as the training is mandatory for all authorized WIC retailers. If the session you have selected is full, you will be contacted to attempt to register you for another session in your area. SUBJECT 5: The Missouri WIC Association (MWA) Elections. MWA is seeking applications for the positions of President Elect, Treasurer, Eastern District Representative, Southeast District Representative, and Southwest District Representative.
The purpose of MWA is to link WIC local agencies in the statewide forum to act collectively on behalf of the WIC program. Specifically, MWA provides peer support and opportunities to exchange information, works toward quality community nutrition by influencing public health and nutrition services at the state and national levels, enhances professional knowledge by providing workshops, promotes legislative awareness, and participates in the planning and implementation of the Biennial WIC Conference. All local agencies are members of MWA. Actively participating in MWA is a great way to learn more about what is happening across the state and improve communication and practices within your district and agency.
