JOB POSTING: Full Time WIC Clerk - Northeast Community Action Corporation (NECAC)
SUBJECT 1: Nutritionist III Position. The Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS), Bureau of WIC and Nutrition Services, currently has an opening for a Nutritionist III. This position is located in Jefferson City. Please see the attached position blurb for additional information. Interested individuals must be eligible for the job classification of a Nutritionist III. SUBJECT 2: Upcoming State Holidays. The WIC state agency will be closed, and there will be no MOWINS Help Desk coverage on the following dates:
- Monday - Tuesday, December 24 - 25
- Tuesday, January 1
SUBJECT 3: Infant and Child Toothbrushes. The state agency plans to purchase infant and child toothbrushes for WIC local agencies again this fiscal year, once our FFY 2019 grant funding has been determined. Please keep in mind that the MO DHSS Oral Health Program does not have funding to provide infant and child toothbrushes to WIC local agencies. If you submit an order to them, they will not be able to fill it. The state agency plans to provide an opportunity for WIC local agencies to order infant and child toothbrushes after the first of the year. SUBJECT 4: CEU Corner.
Guide for Developing and Enhancing Skills in Public Health and Community Nutrition is a free webinar scheduled for December 20, 2018, 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. (CST). The webinar will be recorded and will be posted on the Public Health Community Nutrition Practice Group (PHCNPG) and the Association of State and Public Health Nutrition (ASPHN) websites following the webinar. This guide was developed through the collaboration of the PHCNPG, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and ASPHN. This webinar has been approved for 1.5 CEUs. The attached flyer has more information about the webinar.
JOB POSTING: Full Time WIC Clerk - Northeast Community Action Corporation (NECAC). NECAC seeks full-time WIC Clerk for the Family Planning/Women, Infants and Children program at its St. Charles County Service Center in O’Fallon. Regular work hours 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday and 8 a.m. to noon one Saturday per month. Will work predominantly in St. Charles County, but may work in other county offices (Warrenton) to supplement the workforce when required. Involves contact with the public, visitors, and clients. Will clerk for the Family Planning Program. Will predominately clerk for the WIC program and in future with additional training, will become a Certifier. Must have a high school diploma or GED, excellent people skills, hands-on computer experience, and a working knowledge of Excel and Word software programs. Medical Assistant experience or certification a plus. Continued employment will require successful completion of state-required training. Starting wage of $12.00 an hour and excellent benefit package that includes agency-paid health insurance with dental and vision, agency-provided 401(k) retirement plan, 14 paid holidays, and accumulative vacation and sick days.
