SUBJECT 1: WIC Invoicing/WIC-24 Invoice.When creating a Budget Adjustment or Invoice in the online WIC Invoicing (WIC 24) Application, please double check the Federal Fiscal Year (FFY). SUBJECT 2: Nutrition Education Kit - "Eat Well: Anytime, Anywhere". The State Agency has purchased a new interactive bilingual (English and Spanish) nutrition educational kit titled “Eat Well: Anytime, Anywhere”and is able to provide one kit per WIC family (Household).
Each kit contains an interactive DVD in addition to a Family Guide and Storybook. This kit was developed by the National WIC Association in partnership with Sesame Street Workshop. The “Eat Well: Anytime, Anywhere” kits are as educational and interactive as the “Healthy Habits for Life” kits that reached over 4 million WIC participants several years ago.
On October 24, 2016, an order link for the initial shipment will be sent to all local agency WIC Coordinators. Please complete the order survey by November 30, 2016. JOB POSTING: WIC Coordinator - Crescent Clinic WIC. Crescent Clinic WIC has a full-time job opening for a WIC Coordinator. WIC Coordinator responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Planning and coordinating WIC activities, overseeing staff to ensure goals are met, and that the agency operates within program guidelines and rules
- Assures appropriate local WIC policies and procedures are established and enforced in compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, policies and procedures
- Has the ability to develop plans, implements action plan(s), and evaluate effectiveness
- Monitors fiscal accountability and assures submission of timely and accurate reimbursement requests
- Performs supervisory & management duties, including but not limited to handling participant complaints, staffing and payroll
- Develops, coordinates, and documents implementation of ongoing outreach activities in the community
This position may require some travel throughout the Kansas City area for WIC promotion.
This position requires knowledge of current developments in public health and application to the WIC program, working knowledge of effective management techniques, the ability to gather, interpret, evaluate and use statistical data, as well as the ability to work well with people of diverse socioeconomic/cultural backgrounds.
Ideal Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with specialization in health care administration, public, personnel or business administration, the biological or social sciences, or education. Bachelor of Science in Dietetics/Nutrition preferred but not required.
Minimum Qualifications/Education and Experiences: High school graduation plus four years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Professional or technical experience in public health, counseling, community organization, research and data collection, public, business or health care administration, interviewing, or closely related fields
- Experience in WIC

JOB POSTING: Nutritionist - Crescent Clinic WIC. Crescent Clinic WIC has an opening for a Nutritionist/Dietitian for the WIC program 36 hours per week. This position will be responsible for determining eligibility of WIC participants and providing nutrition and breastfeeding counseling to WIC participants. Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, Foods and Nutrition, Home Economics, or closely related field, with at least 15 semester hours in Human Nutrition including courses in Diet Therapy and Community Nutrition. WIC experience preferred but not required. Certification as a Registered Dietitian is not required. Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
