SUBJECT 1: SUBJECT 1: WIC Participant’s Rights and Responsibilities in 17 Languages (WIC-10). The WIC-10 form (Effective March 1, 2015) in 17 languages are available through the WIC website: Arabic, Bosnian, Burmese, Chinese, Farsi, French, Hindi, Hmong, Korean, Nepali, Romanian, Russian, Somali, Spanish, Ukrainian, Urdu, and Vietnamese. Please download them and make copies as needed; you can find the forms in the Administrative Forms section of the WIC website. SUBJECT 2: WIC Computers - Windows 10 Operating System. Please be aware that MOWINS is currently not compatible with the Microsoft Windows 10 operating system. The State Office-purchased WIC computers use the Windows 7 (Professional version) operating system, which is compatible with MOWINS. SUBJECT 3: Microcuvette and Analyzer Deliveries. Agencies scheduled to receive a shipment of microcuvettes and/or analyzers should begin receiving their shipment the week of March 14, 2016.
Once you have received your order, please verify the number of microcuvettes and/or analyzers received with the number listed on the packing slip. If the number of microcuvettes/analyzers in the package is the same as the packing slip, sign and date the packing slip. Please fax the packing slip to Lori Baysinger at 573-526-1470, within one week of receiving the shipment. Confirmation on the packing slip is required in order for the State WIC Office to pay for the microcuvettes and send WIC tags for the analyzers. If the number of microcuvettes/analyzers received is different from the packing slip, please call Lori Baysinger at 800-392-8209. If you are unable to locate your packing slip, please send an email stating how many boxes or analyzers you received and the date you received the shipment to Lori.Baysinger@health.mo.gov. Thank you for your prompt cooperation.SUBJECT 4: Missouri Licensure for Registered Dietitians. The use of Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist (RDN) or Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN) in Missouri is not currently allowed nor recognized because Missouri does not have RDN/LDN written in the licensure bill. The State Committee of Dietitians is working on setting up a committee to write an amendment to allow the use of RDN. It will be some time before it is written and the change is made. Until that change is made and notification provided, please do not use Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist (RDN) nor Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN). It is appropriate to continue to use RD LD in Missouri.
JOB POSTING: Full-Time Registered Dietician or Nutritionist - Dunklin County Health Department. The Dunklin County Health Department has an immediate opening for a full-time Registered Dietician or Nutritionist with the WIC Program. The person in this position will be responsible for planning and implementation of the nutritional components of the WIC program, as well as providing nutrition and breast feeding counseling and education to eligible families. JOB POSTING: WIC Nutritionist - Shannon County Health Center. The Shannon County Health Center has an immediate opening for a WIC Nutritionist to work four days per week, providing services to the Shannon County and Reynolds County Health Centers. Responsibilities include planning and implementing the nutritional components of the WIC program, as well as providing nutrition and breastfeeding counseling and education to eligible families. JOB POSTING: WIC Health Education Supervisor - St. Louis County Department of Public Health. The St. Louis County Department of Public Health has an opening for a Health Education Supervisor to work in the WIC Program. This is a full-time, grant-funded Registered Dietitian position working out of a North County location. Primary responsibilities include supervising the operation of a WIC office comprised of Office Service Representatives; Nutritionists; and a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor, as well as, completing the job functions of a WIC nutritionist. The Health Education Supervisor requires 2 years of Registered Dietitian experience preferably in WIC along with supervisory experience. Applications will be accepted through February 23, 2016.
