SUBJECT 1: Save the Date - FFY 2017 WIC Local Agency Plan (LAP) Training. LAP training will be conducted June 27, 28, 29, and 30, 2016 at the Department of Health’s ITSD Training Room, located at 920 Wildwood Dr., Jefferson City. This one-day training is optional, but is strongly recommended for new LAP users. Training registration will be available online soon, with a deadline to submit by May 31, 2016. SUBJECT 2: Save the Date - Two Great Nutrition Training Opportunities. "Nutrition for Infants, Children, and Women thru the Childbearing Years" will be offered again this year. In addition, an advanced training that covers some of the same topics in more depth, as well as additional topics, will be provided. 6 CEU hours are tentatively approved for this training. All professional staff, WIC nurses, nutritionists, and RDs, are encouraged to attend. Dates and locations for the trainings are listed below.

SUBJECT 3: WICHealth.Org Website - Updates Coming In April. Please see the attachment for improvements to the website plus a link to a video showing all the enhancements.
Note: Use Chrome or Firefox to play video from the Web or download the video to view it. The video will indicate “session is paused” when first opened - No cause for alarm, it continues to play without a hitch.

The Betty Jean Kerr People’s Health Centers WIC Program is accepting resumes for a full-time nutritionist in St. Louis Missouri. Applicants must have graduated from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in public health nutrition, dietetics, nutrition, food, home economics, or a closely related field, including or supplemented by at least 15 semester hours in food and nutrition, including diet therapy and community nutrition. JOB POSTING: Registered Dietitian - Marion County Health Department. The Marion County Health Department is seeking a full-time registered dietitian (RD) to provide WIC services, create community nutrition programs, and provide nutritional counseling for public health. The RD candidate must possess a current and valid Missouri RD license. They must have excellent people and computer skills. Candidate must be willing to travel if necessary, and work outside normal workday hours. WIC experience is preferred, but not required. JOB POSTING: WIC Nutritionist - Platte County Health Department WIC. Platte County Health Department’s WIC Clinic is seeking a Nutritionist to provide individual assessment and counseling, support for breastfeeding, pregnant and post-partum women, infants and children to age 5. Duties also include individual and group education, and responsible for daily clinic functions. Position is available for 4 days a week, full time (40 hrs/wk), position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition including fifteen credit hours of food and nutrition. WIC experience helpful. Must be reliable and able to work in a team environment. Excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor is expected at all times. Applicant must possess a valid driver’s license. The Dunklin County Health Department has an immediate opening for a full-time Registered Dietitian or Nutritionist with the WIC Program. The person in this position will be responsible for planning and implementation of the nutritional components of the WIC program, as well as providing nutrition and breast feeding counseling and education to eligible families. JOB POSTING: WIC Health Education Supervisor - St. Louis County Department of Public Health. The St. Louis County Department of Public Health has an opening for a Health Education Supervisor to work in the WIC Program. This is a full-time, grant-funded Registered Dietitian position working out of a North County location. Primary responsibilities include supervising the operation of a WIC office comprised of Office Service Representatives; Nutritionists; and a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor, as well as, completing the job functions of a WIC nutritionist.
