SUBJECT 1: REMINDER - Microcuvette and Analyzer Deliveries. Agencies scheduled to receive a shipment of microcuvettes and/or analyzers should begin receiving their shipment the week of Aug. 24, 2015.

Once you have received your order, please verify the number of microcuvettes and analyzers received with the number listed on the packing slip. If the number of microcuvettes/analyzers in the package is the same as the packing slip, sign and date the packing slip. Please fax the packing slip to Lori Baysinger at 573-526-1470, within one week of receiving the shipment. Confirmation on the packing slip is required in order for the State WIC Office to pay for the microcuvettes and send WIC tags for the analyzers. If the number of microcuvettes/analyzers received is different from the packing slip, please call Lori Baysinger at 800-392-8209. If you are unable to locate your packing slip, please send an email stating how many boxes or analyzers you received and the date you received the shipment to Lori.Baysinger@health.mo.gov. Thank you for your prompt cooperation.

The form has been approved and can now be accessed using the link in WOM ER# 1.07000, Program Integrity policy, or on the WIC website at http://health.mo.gov/living/families/wic/localagency/formspoliciesprocedures/, Administrative Forms. Please review the Program Integrity policy in the WOM for Separation of Duties requirements and procedures for using the Separation of Duties Exception Log. If you have questions, contact your Technical Assistance team or call the State WIC office at 1-800-392-8209.

SUBJECT 3: Formula Rebate Contract - Mead Johnson. The State WIC office has been notified that our formula rebate contract has been awarded to Mead Johnson. This allows us to continue offering the standard contracts that we have been offering for the past 15 years. As new information comes out from Mead Johnson about our formula rebate contact it will be shared with the local WIC providers.

SUBJECT 4: Missouri WICHealth.org - Update and Reminder. All LWPs are required to set up an account to ensure that they are able to serve transfer participants from agencies, within the state and from out of state, that are already participating in providing nutrition education through WICHealth.org. As of 9/8/2015 there are 9777 English and 90 Spanish lessons that have been completed by participants in Missouri. Participants have also accessed 740 healthy e-kitchen recipes.

To set up a Staff support account:

  • Have any LWP staff who may need to look up certificates e-mail help@wichealth.org and request a staff account.
  • Visit the site www.wichealthsupport.org and log-in after you have received your access information,
  • Pull down the menu by your user name. Choose profile and complete the information.
  • Return to account home and change the password and communicate this information within the agency
  • Each local agency must have an email account set up in order to receive certificates from participants.

To set up an account for participants to send their certificates:
An email account must be set up for your local agency. There are two options for e-mail addresses to be set up. Certificates of completion will be e-mailed to these accounts once they are set up. (Note: There are still 66 agencies without an e-mail account set-up)

  • Option ONE: - The state office will set up a distribution list via the State System (the agency submits the e-mail addresses for each person to receive the certificates) Note: each person will receive all certificates.

Provide your agency name and (site names if desired) as you want it to appear on the list of locations. If you want each site to have its own distribution list set up by the state you will need to notify Sybil Schlater at sybil.schlater@health.mo.gov with a list of each site and the e-mail addresses/names associated with each site.

  • Option TWO: - The agency sets up a generic e-mail box at the agency level granting access to each person who needs to check for certificates (this is done at the agency level and on the agency e-mail system). In this case you would forward the e-mail address of the generic box along with your agency name and (site names if desired) as you want it to appear on the list of locations to Sybil Schlater at sybil.schlater@health.mo.gov so it can be set up on the WICHealth.org site.
  • Google accounts or Yahoo accounts do not work with WICHealth.org.
  • Local Agency is ready to start using WICHealth.org when

Your local agency may begin using WIChealth.org when:

  • Your local agency’s e-mail address has been set up
  • Your local agency has been registered at the support site

If you have additional questions about WICHealth.org, please contact Rose Sipakati at 1-800-392-8209 or by email rose.sipakati@health.mo.gov

SUBJECT 5: Revision 13 Nutrition Risk Factors Training Acknowledgement. As indicated in the August 24, 2015 WIC Updates, an e-mail with a survey to acknowledge that you received the documents and that staff have been trained on Revision 13 Risk Factors has been sent to Nutrition Coordinators. The email with the survey link was sent on September 1, 2015. If you have questions regarding these risk factors or information provided, please contact your district nutritionist for technical assistance.

SUBJECT 6: Missouri WIC Pandora Campaign. The Missouri WIC Program is actively participating in social media marketing. The Pandora audio ad (attachment) is scheduled for release in September. September’s ad will promote WIC services. When the audio ad appears on a media device, the Missouri WIC Logo is displayed. In MOWINS (for tracking purposes at certification), when asking the question “How heard about WIC?” LWP staff should select “Social Media” from the drop-down listing if the participant reports they heard the advertisement while listening to Pandora. The 30 second audio files can be used for radio ad placement. If you have any questions regarding this information, please contact D'Anne Ward at 1-800-392-8209 or email Danne.Ward@health.mo.gov.
