JOB OPENING: NUTRITIONIST - CITY OF ST. JOSEPH HEALTH DEPARTMENT
SUBJECT 1: Clarification on Issuing Infant Cereals to Children and Women. The WIC State Office is clarifying the policy regarding issuing infant cereal to children and women:
- Infant cereal can be given to children and women only if the participant receives food package III. This requires that a child or woman is also prescribed a formula/WIC-eligible nutritional. The medical documentation form (WIC 27) is required.
- Issuing Infant cereal to children or women through food package IV, V, VI, VII is not allowed.
- Health care providers are not allowed to prescribe only infant cereal to children and women using the medical documentation form (WIC 27).

JOB OPENING: Part-Time WIC Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist - Pike County Health Department. The Pike County Health Department is accepting applications for a part time Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist in the WIC Program. This position is responsible for planning and implementation of the nutritional components of the local WIC Program as well as providing nutrition and breastfeeding counseling and education to eligible families. WIC experience and training in advanced lactation preferred. JOB OPENING: Nutritionist - City of St. Joseph Health Department. This position assists with administering the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program while following the policies and procedures established by the federal and state government and participates in the development and implementation of nutritional counseling and education for the local WIC Nutrition Program. No supervisory responsibilities, limited budgetary responsibilities, and coordinates nutrition and breastfeeding services provided to participants in the WIC Program. Minimum qualifications include: Bachelor’s degree in a nutrition related field with at least 15 semester hours in food and nutrition; including at least one course in diet therapy and one course in community nutrition.
