SUBJECT 1: WOM Policy Updates: The following WOM policies will be updated April 1, 2015:
ER# 1.06800 Participant Fair Hearing (timing for participant to request a fair hearing)
ER # 1.07000 Program Integrity (separation of duties and conflict of interest)
ER# 3.01000 State Program Responsibilities (added section on the State’s responsibility when suspected fraud is reported)
ER# 3.01100 LWP Administrative Responsibilities (added section on LWP’s responsibility to report suspected fraud)
ER# 3.02900 Transfer of Certification (added language to clarify VOC process)
ER# 3.03300 Written Notice of Ineligibility (giving notice to the participant of the reason for ineligibility and the right to a fair hearing)
ER# 3.08100 Food Instrument Issuance Cycles (eliminated reference to pending proofs)
Also the WIC Fair Hearing poster has been revised (changed to be consistent with changes to Fair Hearing policy and added full civil rights statement) and will be posted on the web site at http://www.health.mo.gov/living/families/wic/localagency/resourcespublications/.

SUBJECT 2: Updated Food & Formula Reference Guide (FFRG) - Effective April 1, 2015 - FFRG - Formula Listing & FFRG Guidelines have been updated. - Free 1 hour CERP for IBCLC’s: Breastfeeding Helps Mothers Overcome the Legacy of Abuse and Adversity: It all Makes All the Difference. Dr. Kendall is the key note speaker, she specializes in women’s health research, on topics such as breastfeeding, depression, trauma, and health psychology. She will discuss how new mothers who have experienced abuse and adversity benefit from breastfeeding. - Register before March 23rd: The University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill is offering a self-paced course on Maternal Nutrition and Wellness from April 20th - June 26th. The course is for public health nutritionists who are working in local health agencies, includes modules such as preventing barriers to health pregnancy, healthy pregnancy and lactation, and managing disease conditions during and after pregnancy. JOB OPENING: WIC NUTRITIONIST - Platte County Health Department. The Platte County Health Department is seeking a Nutritionist to provide individual assessment and counseling, support for breastfeeding, pregnant and post partum women, infants and children to age 5. Duties also include individual and group education, and responsible for daily clinic functions. Position is available for 3 days a week, part time (30 hrs/wk). Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition including fifteen credit hours of food and nutrition. WIC experience helpful. JOB OPENING: RECEPTIONIST/WIC CLERK - St. Francois County. The St. Francois County Health Center in Park Hills, MO, is looking to fill a full-time Receptionist/WIC Clerk position with benefits. This is an entry level position. Qualifications include: High School Diploma or equivalency, working knowledge of various office equipment, and computer operating systems including data entry. JOB OPENING: Full-Time WIC Nutritionist - People’s Health Centers. St. Louis Missouri BJK People's Health Centers is currently accepting applications for a full-time Nutritionist in the WIC program. This position is responsible for providing nutrition and breastfeeding counseling and education to eligible families. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field; including or supplemented by 15 semester hours in food and nutrition from a 4-year program. Required course work includes at least one course in diet therapy or medical nutrition therapy I & II and one course in community nutrition or nutrition in the life cycle. WIC experience preferred.
