1. New Contact Information for WIC Retailer Agreements and Training: Effective March 6, 2014 the office phone number for Bridgett Henderson, WIC Retailer Agreements and Training, in the Columbia Area office will be changing to 573/441-6236. The current office phone number, 573/882-9763, will no longer be available as of March 7, 2014. If you have any questions or problems contacting Bridgett by phone, you may contact her by email at Bridgett.Henderson@health.mo.gov or by calling the State WIC office.
2. EatPlayGrow Lesson Plans: Are you looking for a way to engage children ages 2-5 in nutrition education sessions? Download the EatPlayGrow lesson plans available at http://www.cmom.org/eatplaygrow_curriculum or at http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/public/heart/obesity/wecan/tools-resources/eatplaygrow.htm. Or order a copy, at no charge and while supplies last, from the NHLBI Health Information Center, by calling 301.592.8573. Each of the 11 lessons teaches positive messages about healthy nutrition and physical activity behaviors through key messages, an art activity, a healthy snack, story time, physical activity, and parent handouts that are provided in both English and Spanish. Lessons include:

- Fabulous Fruits
- Move to the Beat
- Energy Balance
- I Love My Veggies
- Perfect Portions
- Dem Bones
- Healthy Beverages
- Family Meal
The curriculum was developed by the Children’s Museum of Manhattan in partnership with the National Institutes of Health’s (NIH’s) We Can! Program. Users are encouraged to adapt the lessons to accommodate the audience.
3. REMINDER: WIC Help Desk Meeting: This is a reminder that there will be no WIC Help Desk coverage on Friday, March 21, 2014, from 8:00 am to 10:30 am. Although staff will not be available during these hours, feel free to leave a message and all calls will be returned as soon as possible. The purpose of these meetings is to review processes and procedures in order to provide the highest quality customer service to local agencies and WIC participants.
In our ongoing efforts to better our customer service please remember to complete the WIC Help Desk Customer Service Survey regarding your experience after contacting the WIC Help Desk. The survey can be located here and should take approximately 3 minutes to complete.

4. MOWINS Hot Topics: The next MOWINS Hot Topics session will be Friday, March 28, 2014 from 8:30 am to 10:30 am and will feature guidance for the MOWINS Calendar/Scheduler. It will consist of a live webinar and a conference call with WIC Help Desk staff. MOWINS Hot Topics sessions are open to all LWP staff, but registration is required. The link to register can be accessed here. Once a registration has been completed, a confirmation will be sent within 48 business hours providing additional details. A computer with a network connection is necessary to participate.
