JOB POSTING: PART-TIME COMMUNITY DIETITIAN - FAMILY CARE HEALTH CENTERS
SUBJECT 1: State WIC Office Closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. The State WIC Office will be closed and there will be no WIC Help Desk coverage on Christmas Day, December 25, 2014 and New Year’s Day, January 1, 2015. SUBJECT 2: “Using Loving Support to Grow and Glow in WIC” Training. The following training sites have been scheduled in 2015 outside of Jefferson City: Springfield (March 18th & 19th), Kansas City (April 29th & 30th) and St. Charles (July 8th & 9th). To register for one of these sites, please use the attached registration form and email to Breastfeeding@health.mo.gov.
Please remember that all new WIC agency staff are required to attend this training. Nutritionist and CPAs must attend both days of training and all other staff (WIC Coordinators, WIC Clerks, HPAs, Certifiers, etc.) need only attend the first day, with the second day being optional. SUBJECT 3:Learning Dynamics - Customer Service Notes for WIC. Attached is the latest issue of “Customer Service Notes for WIC” from Learning Dynamics. This issue addresses using the appropriate word choice when working with participants. (ONE ATTACHMENT)
SUBJECT 4: Low-Fat Evaporated Milk. Due to the unavailability of low-fat evaporated milk at the retailers, this option will be removed from MOWINS on December 31, 2014. Women and children from 2 to 5 years of age can select the fat-free/skim evaporated milk option and children < 24 months can select the whole milk evaporated milk option. SUBJECT 5: Mandatory Administrative Update Training - Registration Open. As was stated in the October 7 WIC Update, the USDA recently conducted a Management Evaluation of Missouri WIC. The WIC State Office is holding two trainings to provide guidance on the Nutrition and Administrative findings. The Administrative Update Trainings have now been scheduled for early in 2015 at 8 locations throughout the state. The WIC Coordinator from each agency must attend.
