WIC Paraprofessional & Professional Trainings

The following trainings are required and presented either virtually or in-person. Dates and times are located on the registration forms.

WIC Paraprofessional (WIC Certifier) Training

Overview:

This training is for all NEW WIC paraprofessional staff (WIC Certifiers) and provides the knowledge and skills needed to deliver program services. The training content includes a review of policy and procedures based on specific roles and responsibilities and covers the topics of nutrition assessment, risk factor assignment, mid-certifications, and Food Package I & II assignments.

This training consists of the following components:

  1. Complete the training registration below.
  2. Complete training materials prior to attending the training. Materials will be emailed to the WIC Coordinator after registration is complete.
  3. Complete the Post Test
  4. Complete the Verification of Completion Form

WIC Professional (Competent Professional Authority and Nutritionist) Training

Overview

This training is for all NEW WIC professional staff (WIC Nutritionists, RDs/RDNs, and RNs) and provides the knowledge and skills needed to deliver program services. The training content includes a review of policy and procedures based on specific roles and responsibilities and covers the topics of nutrition assessment, risk factor assignment, mid-certifications, Food Package I & II assignments, delivering participant centered nutrition education, goal setting, high-risk care plans, Food Package III, direct shipment, and return and replacement of formula.

This training consists of the following components:

  1. Complete the training registration below.
  2. Complete training materials prior to attending the training. Materials will be emailed to the WIC Coordinator after registration is complete.
  3. Complete the Post Test
  4. Complete the Verification of Completion Form
