Slips and falls now rank as the leading cause of injury deaths among people 65 and older.
And Missouri’s rate of injury by falling is 31 percent higher than the national average.
The good news is that falls are preventable. Missouri has a plan to reduce falls and fall-related injuries among older adults, and a voluntary group of more than 50 organizations has joined to spread the word.
