The Department reviews the federal recall announcements and identifies recalls that may impact Missouri consumers. A summary of the recalls reviewed and the activities taken is prepared and shared with the Local Public Health Agencies monthly. The attached report provides information on the number of recall notices that were reviewed for each month. It categorizes the information as a Class I (High, Medium, Low priority), Class II and Class III recalls. The report also shows how many of the recalls were related to foods and how many were related to medical products. In addition, the report shows how many of the reviewed notices identified recalled product that could be found in Missouri. The report shows the number of recalls that required follow-up with retail food establishments. The final column on the report shows the number of Missouri illnesses were related to outbreak related recalls. The second page provides details on the specific recalls that were related to products that were distributed in Missouri.
