Trainer Information

The Department of Health and Senior Services uses an online training application, publishing, and attendance management system for the approval and tracking of child care clock hour training. No trainer or training organization is exempt from the approval process, as the process includes the reporting of training completion data. The online training approval process is accessed through the Missouri Workshop Calendar.

Training sessions submitted for clock hour approval must address one of the core competencies outlined in the Core Competencies for Early Childhood and Youth Development Professionals (Kansas and Missouri). Additional information about the Core Competencies is available on the OPEN website. Though Missouri shares common core competencies with Kansas, there is not a reciprocal training approval agreement between Missouri and any other state.

Technical issues or questions about using the Missouri Workshop Calendar should be directed to Child Care Aware of Missouri.

Information about clock hour training requirements for child care providers can be found on the Training page.

Trainer Information

The following information applies to trainers offering clock hour training to meet annual requirements for child care providers in licensed child care homes and centers.

Trainer Requirements

All trainers and training applicants are required to obtain a 6-digit Missouri Professional Development ID (MOPD ID) available instantly and at no cost at www.mopdid.org. The trainer or an individual designated by the trainer must submit the training approval application. Approved applications are valid for three (3) years. Please allow up to 30 days for approval, though reviews are often completed within 10 days.
