This website is an on-line education portal for child and adult care providers who take part in the Missouri Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). The free lessons in the portal focus on key topics you need to know about in order to obtain proper reimbursement from the Missouri CACFP. Civil Rights Training (Required annually for Sponsors and Staff)
Reservations are required for the classes listed below due to limited space. Click here to register for training.
Classes are intended for child care and adult day care providers who have contracts with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services or have submitted a program application to participate in the CACFP.
Topics:
Child Care Center Orientation– For child care centers only. Overview of how to operate the food program and manage CACFP paperwork in your child care center. Attendance required for new child care centers before application is approved.
Infant Feeding– Covers the requirements of the CACFP policy on claiming infant meals, supporting breastfeeding, choosing infant formula, and other infant feeding topics.
Menu Planning – Learn about adding variety to your child or adult care menus and make sure you are providing good quality, nutritious meals and snacks. Special emphasis on foods related to different cultures.
Be a Missouri Eat Smart Child Care – Learn about actions child care providers can do to provide nutritious meals and a healthy nutrition environment. Review the Missouri Eat Smart Guidelines for Child Care and what actions providers can take to be eligible to receive recognition as an Eat Smart Child Care. The training also includes information about why implementing the Guidelines is important and the recognition and benefits facilities will receive for meeting the Guidelines.
