Staying Cool Under Fire: How Well Do You Communicate?
This pre-recorded webinar was sponsored by OnCourse Learning and the Beverage Institute for Health & Wellness with speaker Maureen Habel, MA, RN. Working in the healthcare field requires outstanding communication skills. Communication, the transfer of understanding from one person to another, is essential for team building and for maintaining a satisfying work climate. As healthcare providers, we encounter distressed people daily and need to find ways to relate that can help relieve their distress without upsetting us. All health professionals must be prepared to deal with the negative emotions expressed by patients, family members and colleagues as well as with their own response to anger and distress. This webinar will identify three primary communication styles, discuss ways in which men and women differ in their communication style and stimuli for anger, and discuss strategies to communicate with people who are upset or angry.

Infant-Driven Feeding: A Practice Model to Optimize Long Term Growth & Development - Part 1
Speakers for this webinar are Sue Ludwig, OTR/L, President and Founder National Association of Neonatal Therapists (NANT) and Co-Founder Infant-Driven Feeding, LLC and Kara Ann Waitzman, OTR/L, NTMTC, President of Creative Therapy Consultants and Co-Founder, Infant-Driven Feeding, LLC. The sponsor is Abbott Nutrition Health Institute (ANHI). In this pre-recorded webinar the evidence related to cue-based feeding will be described, the issues associated with traditional NICU feeding practices will be discussed, the seven components of the Infant-Driven Feeding Model to promote effective oral feeding will be listed, and the four goals that optimize infant nutrition by supporting growth and development will be identified.
