SUBJECT 1: Zika Virus Educational Resources. The CDC’s “Interim Guidelines for Pregnant Women During a Zika Virus Outbreak” was shared in the March 14 WIC Updates. These guidelines include recommendations for pregnant women or their partners considering travel to an area with Zika virus transmission, as well as for the screening, testing, and management of returning travelers who are pregnant. Attached is an educational resource in English and Spanish which can be used to share this information with WIC participants. (TWO ATTACHMENTS)

JOB POSTING: Full-Time WIC Nutritionist (Registered Dietitian Preferred) - Butler County Health Department. The Butler County Health Department is accepting applications/ resumes for a full-time Registered Dietitian or Nutritionist. Responsibilities include planning and implementing the nutritional components of the WIC program, completing the job functions of a WIC Nutritionist, providing nutrition and breastfeeding counseling and education to eligible families. Duties may include supervising the operation of the WIC clinic comprised of WIC Certifiers, Nutritionists, and a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in dietetics, public health nutrition, human nutrition, nutritional sciences, nutrition and fitness, sports nutrition, restaurant and food management, foods, family and consumer sciences, human environmental sciences, or home economics; including or supplemented by at least 15 semester hours in foods and nutrition from a 4-year program, including at least one course in diet therapy I & II and one course in community nutrition or nutrition in life cycle/life cycle nutrition. JOB POSTING: Spanish/English-Speaking Nutritionist - People’s Health Centers. The Betty Jean Kerr People’s Health Centers WIC Program is accepting resumes for a full-time nutritionist in St. Louis Missouri. Applicants must have graduated from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in public health nutrition, dietetics, nutrition, food, home economics, or a closely related field, including or supplemented by at least 15 semester hours in food and nutrition, including diet therapy and community nutrition. JOB POSTING: Registered Dietitian - Marion County Health Department. The Marion County Health Department is seeking a full-time registered dietitian (RD) to provide WIC services, create community nutrition programs, and provide nutritional counseling for public health. The RD candidate must possess a current and valid Missouri RD license. They must have excellent people and computer skills. Candidate must be willing to travel if necessary, and work outside normal workday hours. WIC experience is preferred, but not required. JOB POSTING: WIC Nutritionist - Platte County Health Department WIC. Platte County Health Department’s WIC Clinic is seeking a Nutritionist to provide individual assessment and counseling, support for breastfeeding, pregnant and post-partum women, infants and children to age 5. Duties also include individual and group education, and responsible for daily clinic functions. Position is available for 4 days a week, full time (40 hrs/wk), position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition including fifteen credit hours of food and nutrition. WIC experience helpful. Must be reliable and able to work in a team environment. Excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor is expected at all times. Applicant must possess a valid driver’s license. The Dunklin County Health Department has an immediate opening for a full-time Registered Dietitian or Nutritionist with the WIC Program. The person in this position will be responsible for planning and implementation of the nutritional components of the WIC program, as well as providing nutrition and breast feeding counseling and education to eligible families.
