SUBJECT 1: WIC Participant’s Rights & Responsibilities (WIC 10) - Effective November 1, 2015. The attached WIC 10 forms in English and Spanish are effective November 1, 2015. Please share the new WIC 10 with your staff. The forms are also available to download through the DHSS WIC website - Administrative Forms. The laminated sheets and 1-2 pads of the WIC 10 (back-up form) will be shipped to all WIC providers as soon as they become available. If you have any questions about the updated WIC 10, please feel free to contact Takako.Tagami@health.mo.gov. (TWO ATTACHMENTS)

SUBJECT 2: WIC Invoicing Application/WIC-24 Invoice: When creating a Budget Adjustment or Invoice in the online WIC Invoicing (WIC 24) Application, double check the FFY. After October 1 the FFY for Budget Adjustments automatically defaults to 2016. If you have any questions, please contact Laura Thompson at Laura.Thompson@health.mo.gov or 573-526-7901.

SUBJECT 3: New Format - WIC Invoices. Due to changes that were implemented by OMB for Indirect Costs the WIC 24 Invoicing System will be updated on October 31, 2015. When entering invoices or budget adjustments you will now need to enter Contract Services, Administrative Office, Facilities Costs, Equipment Purchases, Indirect (if selected on LAP) and Computer Hardware/Software by selecting the corresponding TAB at the top of your screen. This is true for both the 2015 and the 2016 Invoicing Application. You will no longer be able to directly enter them on the Invoice A TAB. There is a step by step guide for both invoicing and budget adjustments on the Main Page in the invoicing system. If you have any questions, please contact Laura Thompson at Laura.Thompson@health.mo.gov or 573-526-7901.

SUBJECT 4: PDI Closure: After careful consideration and discussion, the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (MDHSS) Program for Dietetic Interns (PDI) will be closing its Dietetic Internship program at the completion of the 2015/2016 academic year. The reasons for this decision include the following issues and challenges:

The four (4) interns who are currently enrolled in the DHSS PDI will not be affected by this change. The effective date of closure is August 15, 2016. If an intern does not complete the program by August 15, 2016 they will not be considered a graduate of an Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) accredited program or eligible to sit for the Commission on Dietetic Registration’s (CDR) Registered Dietitian (RD) exam.  We will no longer be accepting applications for the internship program. The State WIC Office will continue to facilitate public health/community nutrition rotations for dietetic students and interns from other dietetic education and internship programs. If you have any questions, please contact Vicki Strickland at 573-751-6204 or vicki.strickland@health.mo.gov
