SUBJECT 1: National Maternal Nutrition Intensive Course - Cancelled
SUBJECT 2: MOWINS Release 2.18 - Live teleconference/webinars
SUBJECT 3: WIC Signature Pad Repair

  1. National Maternal Nutrition Intensive Course - Cancelled: We regret to inform you that the University of Minnesota 2013 National Maternal Nutrition Intensive Course (MNIC) has been cancelled because the USDA funding that partially supported this course was cut. In the past WICNS/NTI provided this course via satellite viewing, which regretfully will not take place. If you have any questions, please discuss with your TA Nutritionist.

  2. MOWINS Release 2.18 - Live teleconference/webinars: On July 22, 2013 we will be rolling out the next release of MOWINS. Due to the many defect fixes and enhancements in this new version, we will conduct a series of teleconference/webinar training sessions. This training is mandatory and each agency is required to have at least one person in attendance. Additional persons may attend, as deemed necessary by the agency, but due to limited phone line availability, each agency is limited to only one phone line per session. The registration form for these training sessions may be found at http://webapp03.dhss.mo.gov/snapwebhost/surveylogin.asp?k=136337077891. Each agency will need to complete a registration form and submit it by Friday, May 31, 2013. If you have any questions about the registration please contact Florence Minor at Florence.Minor@health.mo.gov or 573-522-3639.

  3. WIC Signature Pad Repair: When problems are encountered with WIC signature pads it is important for agency staff to first review the Signature Pad Troubleshooting document found on the MOWINS webpage under “Equipment”, near the bottom of the page. If it is determined that signature pads are defective and must be sent to the State WIC Office for repair, it is imperative that information regarding the problems encountered are reported in order to assist state staff in their repair efforts. Please provide documentation regarding the signature pad’s malfunction or damage by completing the Problem Description portion of the Signature Pad Troubleshooting document or by including a description of the problem on the DH-60 form being returned with the signature pad. Please be sure to include the contact information of the staff person that encountered the problem with the signature pad so that state staff may contact them for additional information if necessary.

Additionally, please remember a completed DH-60 form must be included with the signature pad when returned to the State WIC Office as they are considered a part of the local agency’s equipment inventory and appropriate documentation must be completed before they are moved or transferred for any reason (ER# 1.04900).

Thank you for your assistance in this matter. If you have questions, please contact Mark Davis at Mark.Davis@health.mo.gov or by phone at 1-800-392-8209.
