  4. New Logo/Slogan for Missouri WIC: It’s time to be creative! Previously in the June 11, 2012 WIC Updates, the State WIC Office asked that you begin thinking about a new logo and/or slogan that could be used to promote the Missouri WIC program. We are now ready for your ideas, images, and suggestions. We will use the new logo/slogan on all WIC publications, including Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) cards and e-Learning documents. Attached you will find additional guidance for submissions. Please review this document prior to sending your suggestions. The document also shows the current WIC logos. E-mail your best slogans and/or images representing Missouri WIC to Susan Guerrant at susan.guerrant@health.mo.gov by Friday, September 28, 2012. If you are submitting an image or picture please send it as an attachment in the e-mail. Multiple submissions are welcome! We would like to receive as many ideas as possible. Information regarding the selection of a new logo/slogan for Missouri WIC will be shared in a future WIC Update. Thank you in advance for your time, efforts, and suggestions.

If you have questions, please contact Susan Guerrant at susan.guerrant@health.mo.gov or by phone at 573-526-1368. (ONE ATTACHMENT)

  5. Funding for the Missouri 2012 WIC Conference held October 22-24 in Jefferson City: This is a reminder that DHSS will pay registration for a pre-determined number of staff members from Local WIC Agencies based on caseload size. LWPs must still register each staff member attending, regardless of who is paying. If you wish to send more staff than allowed by your caseload (see chart below), you may use regular WIC funds and bill the cost of registration.

Below is a chart to show how many LWP staff the State agency will reimburse the local agency to send to the Conference.

    # Participants/Month WIC Staff Peer Counselor
    Under 749 2 1
    750 to 1,999 3 1
    2,000 to 4,000 4 1
    Above 4,000 5 2
The FFY13 LAP SF5 has been loaded with funds to cover mileage, meals and lodging for staff members allowable according to DHSS. If your agency sends more staff than allowed by DHSS caseload limit, you may bill additional mileage, meals and lodging using regular WIC funds on the October ’12 (FFY13) WIC Invoice. LWP’s are responsible for their own hotel reservations. Please contact your TA staff if you have questions.
