How to Handle a Duplicate SWID in MOWINS:  There is a new document on the MOWINS webpage to help when you have created or discovered a duplicate State WIC ID (SWID).  Please visit the MOWINS webpage at http://health.mo.gov/living/families/wic/mowins/index.php to view the document titled:  How to Handle Duplicate Participants.  It is recommended that you also bookmark the MOWINS webpage for future reference as we are posting new updates regularly.  If you have any questions, please contact the WIC Help Desk at 800-554-2544 or WICHelpDesk@health.mo.gov.

  2. Procedures for Correcting MOWINS Data:  We need your help to ensure all participant records in MOWINS have a DCN number recorded in the participant folder.  To help with this ongoing project, there is a new document on the MOWINS webpage with instructions for helping us correct data in MOWINS.  Please visit the MOWINS webpage at http://health.mo.gov/living/families/wic/mowins/index.php to view the document titled:  Procedures for Correcting MOWINS Data.  Please review this report monthly to keep updated on any records that do not contain a DCN number.

  3. Food and Formula Reference Guide (FFRG)–Effective October 9, 2012:  The FFRG has been updated.  Please begin using the attached FFRG on October 9, 2012.  If you have any questions and/or suggestions, please feel free to contact Takako Tagami at Takako.Tagami@health.mo.gov. (ONE ATTACHMENT)

  4. MOWINS Release 2.16 Conference Calls:  The MOWINS Release 2.16 Conference Calls have been canceled and will be scheduled at a later date.

  5. Updated WIC-7 Form (10-12 version):  The WIC Nutrition Education Resource Request (WIC-7) has been updated.  Please begin using the new form when ordering supplies and resources from the DHSS Warehouse.  If you have suggestions and/or questions, please contact Takako Tagami at Takako.Tagami@health.mo.gov.   6. WIC Handout–Homemade Baby Foods (#128):  A new handout “Homemade Baby Foods” is available at the DHSS warehouse.  Please order using the WIC 7 Form (10-12).  The Spanish version will be available in November 2012.  If you have suggestions and/or questions, please contact Takako Tagami at Takako.Tagami@health.mo.gov.   7. REMINDER: WIC Help Desk Meeting:  This is a reminder that there will be no WIC Help Desk coverage on Friday, October 19, 2012, from 8:30 am to 10:30 am.  Although staff will not be available during these hours, feel free to leave a message and all calls will be returned as soon as possible.  The purpose of these meetings is to review processes and procedures in order to provide the highest quality customer service to local agencies and WIC participants.

JOB OPPORTUNITY:  Health Education Supervisor–St. Louis County Department of Health
St. Louis County Department of Health has an opening for a Health Education Supervisor to work in the WIC Program.  This is a full time, grant funded Registered Dietitian position working out of the North Central Community Health Center.  The Health Education Supervisor requires 4 years of Registered Dietitian experience preferably in WIC, along with supervisory experience.  For additional information, or to apply online go to www.stlouisco.com/personnel/jobsearch.
