JOB OPPORTUNITY: Bilingual Clerk-Crescent Clinic

  1. Nutrition Education Opportunity: WIC Registered Dietitians, Nutritionists, Registered Nurses, Certified Nurse Midwives, Nurse Practitioners, Physicians, and other Public Health Professionals that serve pre-conceptual, pregnant, postpartum and breastfeeding women will want to take advantage of this two-day National Maternal Nutrition Intensive Course. The seminar will be shown in Jefferson City on September 26-27, 2012, and again on October 2-3, 2012 in order to accommodate more attendees. This year's continuing education program focuses on: appropriate nutrition services that can improve pregnancy outcomes; effects of maternal eating behaviors on birth outcomes, infant health status and development; characteristics of model programs; and counseling approaches for maternal and infant nutritional health. This training is presented by the University of Minnesota’s School of Public Health and will be shown by the WICNS Nutrition Training Institute.   2. Baby Your Baby Health Keepsake books (#1081) are available: The Baby Your Baby Health Keepsake books are now available at the DHSS warehouse. Please feel free to order the books using the Literature Request form (DH-48). The maximum number of books per order is 50 books. If you have any questions and/or suggestions, please feel free to contact Takako Tagami at Takako.Tagami@health.mo.gov.

  3. Missouri Voter Registration Application Form (VR-1) with 2012 Election Dates: The Missouri Voter Registration Application forms with 2012 election dates are available at the DHSS warehouse. This voter registration form is for non-WIC participants. The Missouri Voter Registration Application Form (WIC/MVR-1) must be used for WIC participants. Both forms (VR-1 & WIC/MVR-1) can be ordered using the WIC local provider supply request form (WIC-8).   4. Medical Foods Availability at Local WIC Vendors: When medical foods that are listed on the attached are prescribed for WIC children by health care providers, please contact the local WIC vendors for product availability before contacting the State Office for direct shipment.   5. Registration for the Missouri 2012 WIC Conference-Jefferson City: “The Magic of WIC” will be held October 22-24, 2012 at the Capital Plaza Hotel in Jefferson City. If the state is paying your registration, you will still need to register (registration form attached). The registration deadline is September 7th, in order for the state payment to cover all of the cost. Please start planning now to attend this great conference! If you have any questions, please contact your District Team. See Sample Below. (ONE ATTACHMENT)

    Early bird Conference Registration deadline is due by September 7. Registrations received after that date will be charged a $25 late fee. Cancellations made by October 8th will receive a refund with a $50 cancellation fee. Any cancellations made after this date will not receive a refund.

JOB OPPORTUNITY: Bilingual Clerk-Crescent Clinic WIC (Jackson County, MO) Crescent Clinic WIC is seeking a part-time clerk. This position is responsible for helping to determine eligibility of WIC participants by performing income assessment, and obtaining and entering participant information. Other duties include answering phones, scheduling, and other basic office duties. Strong customer service skills are required. This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and bilingual in Spanish and English (written and verbal). Office and computer experience preferred. This position is open until filled.
