  2. Fundamentals of Breastfeeding Training: Franklin County WIC is hosting the “Fundamentals of Breastfeeding: An 18 Hour Course” on September 14th, 21st and 28th at Mercy Hospital in Washington, Missouri. This 3 day program is intended for nurses, physicians, nutritionists, lactation consultants and anyone supporting and promoting breastfeeding in their work with moms and babies. Seating is limited. Please see the attached brochure/registration form for more information.   3. Updates on the Substance Use Handout-Translated versions: The Substance Use handout is being translated into 14 languages. It will be available through the link HERE during the week of August 27, 2012. The Spanish version should be printed by September 25, 2012. In the mean time, please feel free to make copies of the attached as needed. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Takako Tagami at Takako.Tagami@health.mo.gov. (ONE ATTACHMENT)

  4. 2012 WIC Conference - Hotel Space: Due to the overwhelming response to conference registration and dual events at the Capital Plaza Hotel, the room block is currently full. The hotel is offering overflow at the negotiated rate at the Candlewood Suites for those who have not yet reserved rooms. On October 9, the Capital Plaza may open up additional rooms from the other reserved block. Thank you for the positive response. We look forward to seeing everyone at the conference in October. JOB OPPORTUNITY: NUTRITIONIST - Stone County Health Department
The Stone County Health Department is accepting applications for a Nutritionist to work full time in the WIC program at both the Branson West and Galena offices. The candidate must have graduated from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in public health nutrition, dietetics, nutrition, foods, home economics, or a closely related field, including or supplemented by at least 15 semester hours in food and nutrition, including diet therapy and community nutrition. Benefits include health insurance ($30 per month paid by employee), 11 hours per month of paid time off, 6 hours per month of extended sick benefit, Aflac policies available, and 13 paid holidays.
