Income Eligibility Guidelines: USDA has released the new Income Eligibility Guidelines, which have increased slightly, and took effect on April 1, 2012. MOWINS was updated with the new income guidelines on April 1. An email on the new Income Eligibility Guidelines was sent to WIC Coordinators and Nutrition Coordinators on March 27, 2012. Single User Personal Double Electric Breast Pumps: If a mother reports having a problem with a Single User Personal Double Electric Breast Pump that your agency provided and you are not able to troubleshoot the problem, please have the mom call Medela Customer Service. The phone number for her to call is 800-435-8316. If Medela determines that there is a problem with the breast pump they will exchange the pump for a new one. Please do not provide the mom with another Single User Personal Double Electric Breast Pump out of your agency’s inventory. JOB OPPORTUNITY-Peer Counselor-Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center-8 hours per week; flexible days/times
The Peer Counselor will work with WIC team members to encourage and support breastfeeding among WIC participants. This position will counsel pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers by telephone and in the WIC office at scheduled intervals; teach prenatal and breastfeeding classes with approved lesson plan provided by the health center.
