- Shipping of Breast Pumps: Medela will begin shipping the Lactina Select electric, single user personal double electric and Harmony manual breast pumps and double pumping kits on September 23, 2010. Please remember that the following procedure must be followed in order to verify receipt of shipment for payment and to send the required WIC tags.
- Immediately upon receipt of shipment, please locate the packing slip and verify that your agency received the products and quantities stated.
- Sign the packing slip to verify the order is correct.
- Fax the signed packing slip to Laura Weiler at the state WIC office at 573-526-1470. WIC tags will be mailed upon receipt of your packing slip.
- If your agency did not receive what was stated on the packing slip, please contact the state WIC office immediately.
If you have any questions, please contact Kathy Mertzlufft at Kathy.Mertzlufft@health.mo.gov or by telephone at 573-526-4792.
- Single User Personal Double Electric Breast Pump: If your agency is providing the single user personal double electric breast pump, please remember that this pump will be given to participants that meet the following criteria:
- Mother must be separated from her infant at least 32 hours per week.
- Mother must be planning to offer breast milk exclusively to her infant and committed to continued long-term, exclusive breastfeeding.
- Infant must be receiving no formula from WIC or any other source.
- Pump cannot be provided to the mother before 4 weeks post partum. If a mother needs a pump before then, she may be loaned a multi-user electric breast pump.
- This pump is intended for mothers whose breastfeeding experience is going well and should not be provided to mothers who are having breastfeeding problems, such as latching difficulties and low milk supply.
For each participant that is provided this pump, the Single User Personal Electric Breast Pump Agreement/Questionnaire (attached) must be completed and scanned into MOWINS. Also, attached is the revised Breast Pump Policy ER# 6.05100, with the breast pump decision tree, sample agency loan guidelines and sample loan agreement for additional guidance.
If you have any questions, please contact Kathy Mertzlufft at Kathy.Mertzlufft@health.mo.gov or by telephone at 573-526-4792.
