SUBJECT 1: Emergency Release to MOWINS - July 16, 2010
SUBJECT 2: WIC Basic Orientation Training Materials are on the Web
- Emergency Release to MOWINS - July 16, 2010: An emergency release to MOWINS is being implemented to correct the new bug which prints formula and other foods on the same check as a cash value voucher (CVV) for children and women.
MOWINS Release 2.02.08 is scheduled to be applied to the MOWINS Production Database on Friday, July 16, 2010.
The download of this release can be done beginning on July 16, 2010, as early as 7:00am. It cannot be done before that date/time. Help Desk coverage will start at 7:00 am on July 16. The new release must be downloaded to each PC. We recommend allowing sufficient time (approximately one (1) hour), to minimize delays in providing WIC services. All other applications must be closed before running this download.
An e-mail went out on Saturday, July 10, 2010. Please refer to this e-mail for more details. The e-mail was sent to all WIC Coordinators, Nutrition Coordinators, state WIC staff, state IT staff and anyone else in the agency that has been designated to receive MOWINS release e-mails. Ensure all WIC staff know what to do regarding this emergency release. If you did not receive that e-mail, please contact Mark Davis at 573-526-5323 or by email at email@example.com.
- WIC Basic Orientation Training Materials are on the Web: The WIC Basic Orientation (Clerical, HPA, WIC Certifier, CPA) Self-Paced Training Modules, Post Tests and Verification of Completion form are now available on the Web. The LWP will continue to submit a training registration form for all WIC Basic Orientation and MOWINS trainings. The registered trainee will receive a training confirmation outlining location of the training materials (on the web) as well as the confirmed dates/times they will attend the face-to-face WIC Paraprofessional (WIC Certifier, CPA/Nutritionist) and/or MOWINS (all staff) trainings. If you have any questions regarding this information, please contact D'Anne Ward at 800-392-8209 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
